The smells & sounds of

Seven Mile

The rhythm, soul and spirit of Jamaica’s island life is a tropical escape to sensory stimulation. Light one up and get lost in a beach vacation.

Home fragrance is highly personal, and Seven Mile is easily one of our most personalized candle scents in our line. Inspired by Sonicglow founder Cheryl Roder-Quill’s intimate wedding and honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica in the early 90s, Seven Mile is a vibrant, fresh and happy statement piece that adds equal parts adventure and romance to your home ambiance.

Negril in the 1990s was a quieter place than it is now, once a low-key fishing village where warm hospitality was found under every open door. Today, Negril maintains its reputation as the most chilled-out corner of Jamaica, and Seven Mile captures the allure of the region's tropical botanicals, fresh fruit, perfectly rolled joints, high-proof rum, cold carafes of Red Stripe beer, the sizzling of open-air grills and the sway of reggae music.

Seven Mile is filled with exotic fragrances of mango, coconut milk, hemp, frankincense and myrrh that let you experience the flavors of Jamaican culture from your home. And when you pair it with the right music, it’s a full sensory journey without a passport.

Sway to the rhythm

We curated a playlist that celebrates Jamaica’s influence over reggae, ska and dancehall music genres and amplifies the sensory experience of burning Seven Mile. Get lost in the timeless rhythms with the best songs from Toots & The Maytals, Bob Marley & The Wailers, John Holt, Althea and Donna, Gregory Issacs, UB40, The Melodians, Peter Tosh, Damian Marley, Desmond Dekker, Buju Banton and many more musicians who encompass both the classic and contemporary soul of island life.

This mixtape is meant to be played in the background alongside your candle, acting as an ambient soundtrack when “island time” is a state of mind — for day dreams and lazy afternoons or late nights and conversations that are as bottomless as that bottle of rum.
